Big Job - Get at it Boy !!!

THE BENEFITS OF MULCHING OVER SLASHING

Mulching, also known as flail mowing, is in short, better technology.

These are the reasons why mulching is better than slashing:

NO WINDROWS

A windrow is a long line of heaped material, in this case grass (refer image below). Slashing leaves windrows, which are an irritant to the pastoral caretaker. The unevenly clumped material smothers and kills the patches of grass below. Not only does this reduce your viable pastoral space, it looks terrible and can be a fire hazard in the bushfire season.
Flail Mowers, however, ‘mulch’ the grass into finer particles and spread the material evenly. This serves to provide an even finish to the pasture.

FLAIL MOWER

The flail mower are the best of both worlds. They can handle heavy grasses while also providing a beautiful finished cut. A Flail Mower or a Mulcher does not create windrows rather they leave an evenly distributed mulched bi-product. Which decomposes quickly and puts many necessary inputs back into the soil. This assists in preventing erosion and improves soil structure and fertility. It also reduces the chance of disease infestation. Mulching is effective for weed and pest control and over time a mulched paddock will require less fertilisers, pesticides and herbicides.
Flail Mowers are also very popular in the bush for their ability to create firebreaks and remove fuel loads to help shut down potentially deadly grass fires.

The removal of this knee-deep Wandering Dew, Tradescantia albiflora, and Madeira Vine, Anredera cordifolia, has been a process.
Initial targeted spraying, using appropriate targeted chemical and practices, was undertaken to kill off the plants.
A follow up a few weeks later to cut back and dig up the roots was then undertaken.
The cuttings and roots were then rowed up and covered in thick black plastic, this caused it to rot down, killing any still live/active parts of the plants and reduced the bulk to be removed by half, helping the customer to save money on later tipping fee's. This rotting down process took a few weeks.
The last of the material that had not rot down was then hauled out and taken to an approved waste facility.
Follow up spraying will need to be undertaken come the active growing period in the warmer months to ensure that there is no resurgence of uncontrolled growth.
A good outcome for the customer, who regained back the use of their yard as well as removing environmental weeds.

Great getting feedback.

"Ha, this place looks kinda familiar...I can really recommend Yard and Paddock services, turned up when they said they would, did a great job on my overgrown paddock despite tricky access issues 10/10 👍"
